Like as flax, Hemp is also a bast fiber. Almost every European Country and few Asian country the Hemp is now cultivated. Mainly Hemp is cultivated in Hungary, Rumania, and Soviet Union etc.
The length of Hemp fiber is may be 6 ft. The shape of this fiber is cylindrical. Hemp fiber is a coarser fiber. Hemp is stiffer than flax due to present more gummy material than flax. The color of Hemp fiber is very dark and difficult to bleach. Hemp can be cottonized. Mainly Hemp is used for making ropes. But now a day’s Hemp is used for coarse fabric and also used for canvas and sacking.Our Blog
