Blending

To keep different fibers of same or different grades are together then it is known as blending. Example: 60% of cotton + 60% of polyester.
Objectives of Blending:
1.     To achieve uniform quality.
2.     To improve processing performance.
3.     To reduce and control of production cost.
4.     To meet function and end use requirements.
5.     Aesthetic, i.e. fashion, texture, drape, luster etc.
6.     Fency effect.
Types of Blending:
1.     Bale blending.
2.     Flock blending.
3.     Lap blending.
4.     Web blending.
5.     Sliver blending.
6.     Fiber blending.
7.     Roving blending.
